Union Paving completely revised the traffic pattern at Exit 14A, which required expertise in a variety of disciplines, coordination with the NJTA, NJDOT, City of Bayonne, Conrail, Hudson Bergen Light Rail, and various utilities. The project involved: clearing and grubbing seven acres, demolishing existing structures, installing drilled shafts in excess of one hundred feet, constructing four new bridges, widening existing spans, realigning roadways and ramps, installing nineteen overhead sign structures, and constructing a new toll plaza complex and administrative buildings. In total, we placed over 85,000 TN of asphalt and over 11,000 CY of concrete roadway slabs, bridge decks, parapets, and piers.
