Union Paving constructed a new 1,000-foot-long bridge and related roadways to realign Rt. 1&9 over local roads and the Rahway River. The work included nine piers, two of which were located in the river. To build the two footings in the river, we installed two cofferdams approximately 40’ x 100’ and dewatered with pumps into a sediment/retention basin.

Throughout the project, we also excavated over 83,000 CY of material; disposed of contaminated soil; and installed new sewer, water, and electrical utilities.
