Union Paving built new bridges and roadways adjacent to and over NJ Transit, Amtrak, and Conrail lines. The work involved: excavation; demolition of existing bridges and buildings; embankment and road construction; building new bridges, ramps, retaining walls; realignment and widening of McCarter Highway; disposal of contaminated soil; extending the existing culvert; installing piles and sheeting; and installing sewer, water and electrical utilities.

The work involved a large degree of coordination due to heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic and a large volume of work within NJ Transit, Amtrak, and Conrail right-of-ways.
